Online PUBG Game Turns Into Dangerous Love Affair
Article Today, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, has exposed how addiction to online games and social media can dismantle families and even threaten lives. A married woman allegedly threatened to kill her husband in a gruesome manner, inspired by a viral murder case, after falling in love with a man she met while playing the online game PUBG.
From Marriage to Mayhem
Aradhana, a resident of Mahoba, married Sheelu in 2022. The couple has a one-and-a-half-year-old son. Over time, Aradhana became increasingly addicted to PUBG. She reportedly spent hours inside the house playing the game, ignoring family responsibilities.
PUBG Friend Becomes Online Lover
During one such gaming session, she came into contact with Shivam, a young man from Ludhiana, Punjab. Their interaction during gameplay gradually turned romantic. Aradhana allegedly told Shivam that her husband physically abused her, a claim that stirred his emotions.

1,000-Km Journey for Love
Moved by her stories, Shivam decided to meet her in person. He travelled nearly 1,000 kilometres from Punjab to Uttar Pradesh and arrived unexpectedly at Aradhana’s home. His sudden appearance shocked her husband and other family members.
‘I’ll Cut You Into 55 Pieces’: Threat Inspired by Crime Case
According to police, the most disturbing part of the case emerged when Aradhana threatened to kill her husband in a manner similar to the infamous ‘Meerut Murder’ case, where a victim was dismembered into 55 parts. Her threats created panic and fear in the household.
Husband Takes Quick Action
Terrified by the threats, Sheelu acted swiftly. He caught Shivam and handed him over to the police. As Shivam was being taken away, Aradhana followed the police to the station. There, she accused her husband of being an alcoholic and domestic abuser. She insisted she wanted to live with Shivam.
Police Begin Investigation
The police registered a case and produced Shivam before the court. Further investigation is underway to verify all allegations and determine legal action. This incident highlights the dangerous impact of online interactions and digital addiction. It also raises serious concerns about the influence of crime sensationalism on social behaviour.
