Afternoon Agreement Turns into Evening Breach…
According to details shared by Foreign Secretary Misri, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan contacted his Indian counterpart at 3:35 PM on Saturday, conveying their agreement to a ceasefire between the two countries. Instructions were issued by both sides to cease all military operations by land, air, and sea, effective from 5:00 PM. However, this agreement proved short-lived as Pakistan allegedly breached it within a few hours of its implementation.

Conflicting Reports on US Mediation…
While US President Donald Trump had earlier claimed that the ceasefire agreement was brokered by the United States, Indian government sources have refuted this claim. They clarified that the understanding was a result of direct discussions between the two nations and was unconditional. Nevertheless, India is firmly demanding that Pakistan immediately cease its violations and act responsibly, especially given the heightened tensions following recent drone and missile attacks that had brought the two countries perilously close to conflict.
