Outsourcing Staff Protest in Hyderabad for Equal Rights

Outsourcing employees from across Telangana gathered in large numbers at Indira Park’s Dharna Chowk on Saturday. The protest, led by the Telangana Outsourcing Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC), demanded job security, equal pay, and the formation of a dedicated corporation for outsourcing employees. The massive turnout reflected growing unrest among temporary government staff.

Equal Pay is a Constitutional Right: R. Krishnaiah
Rajya Sabha MP R. Krishnaiah extended full support to the protest. He said outsourcing is an unjust system and must be abolished immediately. He reminded that equal pay for equal work is a constitutional right and warned that continued negligence will face resistance in upcoming elections. Krishnaiah also assured he would raise the issue in Parliament.

Historical Movements Succeeded: Etela Rajender
BJP MP Etela Rajender joined the protest and emphasized that every people’s movement for rights has succeeded in history. He warned that no government can function smoothly without the support of outsourcing employees. He demanded the state cabinet form a special sub-committee to resolve the employees’ grievances.

Corporation Like for Gig Employees: Puli Lakshmaiah
JAC President Puli Lakshmaiah demanded the formation of a corporation for outsourcing employees, similar to the one established for gig employees. He cautioned that if the demand is not addressed before the upcoming local body elections, the community will show its strength at the ballot. He added that the demand would also be taken to the national leadership of the Congress.

Wide Political and Civil Support
The protest drew support from several political leaders and civil society members. LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy, Armoor MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy, BRS leader Errolla Srinivas, and retired IAS officer Chiranjeevulu expressed solidarity. Telangana activists Prithviraj and Kranthi, along with media representatives Srinivas and Shiva Reddy, also joined.

Union Leaders Stand United
Several key members of the JAC participated in the protest. These included General Secretaries Doyipadi Sridhar and Durgam Srinivas, Treasurers Santosh and Jagadeesh, and committee members Govardhan, Raj Mohammed, Balakrishna Reddy, Shekhar Reddy, Manohar Naik, Padma, Jyothi, and Rajesh. Their presence highlighted the unity and seriousness of the movement.

Growing Pressure Ahead of Elections
With local elections on the horizon, the demand for formal recognition of outsourcing employees has gained political traction. Protesters declared they would not remain silent if the government failed to act. As discontent grows, pressure is mounting on the state leadership to respond with concrete measures.
