Kalvakuntla Kavitha has triggered fresh political churn in Telangana by signaling her ambition to lead the State after the next Assembly elections. Speaking at a press interaction in Hyderabad, she asserted that her political platform would secure power, indicating that she sees herself as the next Chief Minister. Her remarks have intensified internal tensions within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

Kavitha Vs KCR, KTD and HarishRao

Direct Attack on Senior Leaders
Mrs. Kavitha launched a sharp attack on senior BRS leaders, particularly Harish Rao and K. T. Rama Rao. Referring to the controversy surrounding the Naini coal block tenders, she alleged that Mr. Rao acted opportunistically and that others followed his narrative without independent scrutiny. These comments have widened visible cracks within the party leadership.

Allegations Over Coal Block Issue
Focusing on the Naini coal block episode, Mrs. Kavitha claimed that the tender cancellation was linked to vested interests. She alleged that the issue was being framed to protect a major corporate player, while smaller actors were being projected as scapegoats. She specifically alleged that the interests of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures were being shielded, a charge that has further fuelled political controversy.

Telangana Jagruti’s Political Turn
Clarifying her future course, Mrs. Kavitha rejected speculation about joining the Congress. She stated that the Congress would not come to power in the State in the next elections. Instead, she announced that Telangana Jagruti would soon be transformed into a full-fledged political party. According to her, this platform would contest elections independently with a clear agenda.

Signs of Division within BRS
Meanwhile, Mrs. Kavitha attributed the current turmoil in the BRS to internal power struggles and what she described as self-serving political tactics. She warned that such approaches were weakening the party from within. Her statements have reinforced speculation about a possible split or realignment in Telangana’s political landscape.

Remarks on Phone Tapping Probe
Turning to the phone tapping investigation, Mrs. Kavitha criticised the Congress-led government for prolonging the probe. She said the inquiry had dragged on for nearly two years without resolution. According to her, surveillance technologies meant for national security were misused for political purposes, and she called for swift justice for those affected.

Concern Over Women Officials
In addition, Mrs. Kavitha raised concerns over the treatment of women civil servants. She questioned the silence of political leaders when women IAS officers were allegedly subjected to derogatory remarks. Stressing the importance of dignity and institutional respect, she said women’s self-respect would remain a central issue in her political campaign.

A Shifting Political Narrative
Therefore, Mrs. Kavitha’s statements mark a decisive shift in Telangana politics. With open criticism of her own party’s leadership and the announcement of a new political path, the coming months are likely to see intensified political realignments ahead of the Assembly elections.
