Raghavulu Devalla has been elected as a member of the Telangana Bar Council. The results of the elections, conducted across the state in January, were announced on Tuesday after a prolonged counting process.

Wide Participation Recorded
Polling took place in courts across Telangana. A total of 203 candidates, including 55 women, contested in the elections. The scale of participation reflected the significance of the Bar Council in regulating the legal profession.
The counting of votes began on 10 February and continued for several weeks. The process concluded with the election of 23 members to the Bar Council. Raghavulu Devalla secured one of the seats in the final results declared on Tuesday.

Professional Background
Raghavulu Devalla previously served as general secretary of the Debt Recovery Tribunal. His experience in legal administration is seen as a key aspect of his candidature. Meanwhile, lawyers at the tribunal welcomed his victory. Senior advocates, including GK Deshpande, Vijay Kumar and Sridhar Reddy, felicitated him and extended their congratulations.

Focus on Welfare Issues
Speaking after his victory, Raghavulu Devalla said he would work towards resolving the problems faced by advocates. In addition, he pledged to focus on their welfare and professional needs. He also expressed gratitude to those who supported his campaign. Therefore, his election marks a new phase of representation for advocates within the Bar Council.
