- Promotional Song Sparks Debate
Article Today, Hyderabad:
A promotional song from the upcoming pan-India film KD The Devil has triggered controversy across social media platforms. The track titled “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” faced criticism over alleged vulgar Hindi lyrics and double-meaning expressions. The song, released as part of the film’s promotional campaign ahead of its April 30 release, quickly drew strong reactions online. Critics argued that the lyrics crossed linguistic and cultural boundaries and relied on explicit wording for attention.
Legal Complaint Intensifies Issue
The controversy escalated after Mumbai-based lawyer Vineet Jindal filed a complaint with the Central Board of Film Certification. The complaint alleged that the song’s language violated standards of public decency. Soon after the complaint surfaced, several social media platforms removed the song. The issue also renewed debate about creative responsibility in large-scale commercial films targeting multiple languages and markets.

Singer Mangli Issues Apology
Singer Mangli, known for her Telugu folk-style songs, responded publicly to the criticism. She issued an apology through social media and said the situation arose unintentionally. Mangli stated that there was no intention to hurt sentiments or promote obscenity. She added that the team had already removed the track from digital platforms and assured that such mistakes would not happen again.
Nora Fatehi Expresses Concern
Meanwhile, actor and dancer Nora Fatehi also addressed the issue. She expressed disappointment over the Hindi lyrics used in the song. Fatehi said she had trusted the explanation provided by the film’s team during the shoot because she did not understand Kannada. However, she said she was shocked after hearing the Hindi version and understanding the meaning of the words. According to her statement, the song was filmed nearly three years ago.
AI Images Add New Controversy
In addition, Fatehi raised concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in the film’s promotional visuals. She alleged that AI-generated images featuring her and actor Sanjay Dutt were used without her consent. Fatehi said she has consistently opposed such uses of AI technology. She added that she felt uncomfortable after seeing manipulated images displayed during promotional events.
Early Warning To Filmmakers
Fatehi further claimed that she had warned the director about the possible backlash once she heard the Hindi rap portion of the song. However, she said her concerns were ignored. As a result, she chose to stay away from the film’s promotional activities. Fatehi explained that she initially agreed to appear in the project mainly because of Sanjay Dutt’s involvement.
Questions Over Creative Responsibility
The controversy has also sparked wider discussion about accountability in film production. Fatehi argued that actors should not be the only ones facing criticism when disputes arise. She stressed that filmmakers who create and approve such content must also take responsibility. Therefore, the debate around the song has expanded beyond a single promotional track and now highlights broader questions about artistic ethics and oversight in the film industry.
