Member of Parliament Kalissetti Appalanaidu and his wife Prabha Naidu have launched the Nikhila Charitable Trust in Ranasthalam. The initiative is named after their daughter Nikhila Naidu. The trust aims to support education, healthcare and welfare activities across the Vizianagaram parliamentary constituency. The launch marks the beginning of a broader social outreach effort by the family.

Women Lead The Initiative
The trust is led largely by women from the Kalissetti family. Prabha Naidu will serve as chairperson while Nikhila Naidu will act as director. Appalanaidu’s mother Surappamma and sister Damayanthi are also part of the initiative. The involvement of four generations of women sends a message on the importance of women’s leadership and empowerment in community service.

Tribute To Women’s Influence
Meanwhile, Appalanaidu addressed a gathering in Ranasthalam during International Women’s Day events. He said the success of many men is shaped by the guidance of women in their lives. The MP acknowledged the influence of his mother, his wife, his political mentor Kavali Pratibha Bharati, his science teacher Satyavati, and his daughter Nikhila Naidu. According to him, their support played a decisive role in his journey.

Support For Girl Children
In addition, the trust continues a welfare scheme aimed at encouraging the birth of girl children. Families in the Vizianagaram parliamentary constituency receive Rs. 50,000 if a third child born to them is a girl. During the Women’s Day programme, the MP and his wife distributed cheques to several beneficiaries. The initiative seeks to promote gender equality and support families raising daughters.

Help For Cattle Shelters
However, the trust’s activities extend beyond human welfare. The MP and his wife also visited a cow shelter near Kostha village in Ranasthalam mandal. They performed special prayers and interacted with the caretakers. On the occasion, Prabha Naidu presented a cheque of Rs. 11,111 to support the shelter’s maintenance.

Plans For Further Welfare
Therefore, the trust plans to expand its service programmes in the coming months. Appalanaidu announced that couples with two daughters and one son will be provided a cow and calf through the initiative. According to him, the programme is already underway in some areas. The trust aims to strengthen community welfare and bring more social support to families across the constituency.
