Article Today, Hyderabad:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is now moving faster than human decision-making on the battlefield. In the past, hundreds of soldiers were needed to analyse thousands of hours of surveillance footage from aircraft and drones. However, modern AI systems can now process such data within seconds. During recent US strikes on Iran, these technologies played a central role in identifying and destroying targets rapidly.

Project Maven’s Role
At the centre of this system is Maven Smart System, an artificial intelligence network developed by the United States Department of Defense. The platform processes massive streams of information collected from satellites, drones and surveillance aircraft. It detects patterns that human analysts may miss. As a result, commanders receive clearer intelligence on enemy movement and infrastructure.

Gotham Data Platform
Meanwhile, the data infrastructure behind this process comes from the technology company Palantir. Its Gotham platform acts as a digital intelligence hub. The system collects complex data from different sources and converts it into visual maps and operational insights. Military planners can quickly identify locations of weapons storage, vehicle movement and troop deployments on a single screen.

Claude Strategy Engine
In addition, another artificial intelligence tool called Claude played a critical role in operational planning. Developed by the company Anthropic, Claude analyses the intelligence gathered by Gotham. It then generates strategic recommendations for military operations. The system evaluates when and where strikes may weaken enemy capabilities most effectively.

Digital Targeting Grid
Furthermore, Israeli technology also contributed to the operation. Israel’s AI targeting system known as Gospel was integrated with the American platforms. Gospel rapidly generates potential targets based on surveillance data. Together, Maven, Claude and Gospel formed a digital grid that accelerated targeting decisions and strike coordination.

Precision and Coordinates
Accurate location data is essential in modern warfare. Even a small targeting error can cause major damage. However, AI-generated coordinates improved precision during these operations. Claude continuously updated maps and tracked movement patterns. Therefore, missile strikes were directed with greater accuracy and minimal delay.

Future Battlefield Transformation
This development signals a major transformation in military strategy. AI-driven analysis allows armies to detect enemy activity in seconds. In contrast, traditional intelligence gathering required long planning cycles. Consequently, military power is increasingly linked to technological capability rather than troop numbers.

Global Strategic Implications
The broader geopolitical implications are also significant. Nations that dominate artificial intelligence technology may gain strategic advantage in future conflicts. Reports also suggest that AI-driven surveillance contributed to tracking Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei before his reported death. In addition, private technology companies are now becoming key partners in defence operations. As a result, future wars may be fought not only on physical borders but also through algorithms and silicon chips.
