Pension Protest Day on Sep 1st – Employees’ Unions Call for Mass Participation

Leaders of government employees’ unions have announced that September 1st will be observed as Pension Protest Day. They urged employees across the State to join the protest meeting in large numbers. The call was given under the banner of the Telangana Government Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC).

Poster Released in Hyderabad
On Tuesday, the Hyderabad city and district units of the JAC unveiled a wall poster at the Directorate of Economics and Statistics to mark the campaign. JAC chairmen Srikant and Vikram, along with convenors Venkat and Krishna Yadav, participated in the programme. Leaders from other associations, including TGO and TNGO, were also present.

Black Dress Appeal
The unions appealed to employees to attend the meeting at Lalita Kala Thoranam wearing black attire. They stated that the black dress would symbolise opposition to the government’s approach on pension issues. Leaders emphasised the need for unity among employees to protect their rights.

Demand for Government Response…
Speakers underlined that the government must reconsider its stance on pension policy. They stressed that a collective movement was essential to secure long-term social security for employees.

Participation of Leaders
Several union leaders, including Amarender, Raju, Venumadhav, Vidya Sagar, Narasimhachari, Nandini, Kavitha, Beril, and Nagesh, attended the poster release and expressed support for the protest.
