Investigators said the main accused, Lakshmi, and her son, Narender Reddy, acted as agents for several medical centres. The duo allegedly facilitated illegal activities under the guise of surrogacy.

The hospitals that received notices include Hegde Hospital, Lux Hospital, Anu Test Tube Centre, EVF IVF Centre, Ferti Care, Sri Fertility, and Amulya Fertility Centre. Police suspect that these institutions extended support to the accused in carrying out their operations.

The managements and doctors of the named hospitals have been directed to appear before investigators. Police said their statements will be recorded as part of the ongoing inquiry. Officials added that more details are likely to emerge as questioning progresses.
