On May 28, DMK officially included his name among six candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu, scheduled for June 19. This move marks a significant step in Kamal’s parliamentary journey.

Though his comments drew widespread criticism in Karnataka, they seemed to resonate positively with Tamil audiences.
