The idea of making Apple iPhones right here in America is being pushed. But experts warn that if this happens, the price you pay for an iPhone could jump way up, maybe even to $3,000! That’s around 2.5 lakh rupees.
Moving from China = Higher Prices?
Right now, most iPhones are made in China because it costs less money there. But there’s talk of putting taxes on things coming from China. If that happens, or if Apple has to make phones in the US, it will become much more expensive.
Why Would Prices Rise So Much?
Making things in America costs more for a few big reasons:
- Workers get paid more: People in the US earn higher salaries than workers in China.
- New factories needed: Apple would have to build new places to make the phones, which costs a lot.
- Getting parts would be harder: The way Apple gets all the little pieces to make an iPhone is set up in China. Starting that over in the US would be tough and pricey.
- Training new people: Teaching American workers how to build iPhones also adds to the cost.
Because of all this, experts think the price of an iPhone could go from around $1,600 to $3,000 or even more!

If iPhones become this expensive, people might not be able to afford them anymore. Even though iPhones are seen as fancy, a price jump like this could make people look at cheaper phones instead.
