Minister Promises Medicos for Concrete Action

Article Today, Hyderabad:The Telangana government is preparing to address the concerns of Medicos in the coming cabinet meeting. Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha confirmed that he has already discussed the matter with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. A detailed report on these issues will be presented during the cabinet session scheduled for June 24.

Minister Promises Concrete Action

Speaking to reporters, the minister assured that the cabinet will take key decisions regarding the junior doctors’ long-standing demands. He also announced that another meeting with representatives of the Telangana Junior Doctors Association (T-JUDA) will be held on June 25 to review the cabinet’s resolutions and to outline further steps.

Dedicated Meeting with T-JUDA Leaders

On Thursday, Minister Damodar held a special meeting with T-JUDA leaders, including Dr. Isaac Newton (President), Dr. Ajay Kumar Goud Durgam (General Secretary), Dr. Giri Prasad (Vice President), Dr. Sandeep (Vice President), Dr. Vinay Kumar (Spokesperson), Dr. Avinash (Osmania JUDA President), and Dr. Keerthika (Osmania JUDA Joint Secretary). Health Secretary Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu also participated in the discussions. The meeting focused on reviewing the government’s progress on the issues raised by junior doctors in recent protests.

Junior Doctors Welcome Minister’s Response

T-JUDA appreciated the minister’s proactive approach and welcomed his assurances. The association expressed hope that the cabinet meeting would bring favourable outcomes. They are looking forward to significant decisions, particularly on improving working conditions and financial support.

Key Demands of Junior Doctors

The junior doctors have strongly urged the government to increase their stipend without further delay. They highlighted that rising inflation and growing workloads have made their current financial support insufficient. They also called for the immediate recruitment of faculty in government medical colleges. Strengthening faculty teams, they argued, would not only improve the quality of education but also enhance patient care.

Further, they stressed the need to upgrade basic infrastructure in medical colleges and affiliated hospitals. Improving these facilities, they said, is essential to creating a better training and work environment for medical students and healthcare providers.

Hope for a Positive Resolution

The junior doctors remain optimistic that the June 25 follow-up meeting will confirm concrete and positive decisions. They believe the government’s response so far is a step in the right direction towards addressing their genuine concerns.
