Harish, the Anaconda of Corruption – Kavitha’s Allegations… Against His Own Brother-in-Law

    Article Today, Hyderabad:
Political tremors shook Telangana after BRS MLC K. Kavitha accused her brother-in-law and former Minister T. Harish Rao of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project. She alleged that Harish Rao, along with former MP Santosh Kumar and businessman Mega Krishna Reddy, was responsible for irregularities that brought disrepute to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

    Charge of Collusion
Returning from a visit to the United States, Ms. Kavitha told reporters in Hyderabad that the alleged collusion between Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar led to corruption in the project. She said these activities invited charges against her father K. Chandrashekar Rao, which she termed painful and unacceptable. According to her, this was also the reason Harish Rao was removed from the Irrigation portfolio in the past government.

    Allegations Against Revanth Reddy
Ms. Kavitha extended her criticism to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of striking an understanding with Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar. She questioned why the Congress government, despite ordering a CBI probe into Kaleshwaram, had not taken action against the two leaders. She challenged the Chief Minister to prove his sincerity by initiating proceedings against them. She reiterated that no allegations had been proven against K. Chandrashekar Rao, who was willing to face any inquiry.

    Response to Social Media Criticism
The MLC also reacted strongly to online trolling against her. She alleged that the campaign was orchestrated by the supporters of Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar. Warning that she would not tolerate such attacks further, she said she had chosen to remain silent so far for the party’s sake, but was now compelled to speak out in defence of her father.

    Speculation on Political Course
Ms. Kavitha’s statements have intensified speculation about her future political course. Observers noted that her sharp criticism of Harish Rao could trigger further divisions within the BRS. Questions are being raised on whether she would launch a separate political outfit or join another party such as the BJP or Congress. Analysts also underlined that her remarks might alter internal equations within the BRS at a critical juncture.
