Congress Chief Warns MLAs Over Poor Performance

Mahesh Goud Expresses Dissatisfaction, Issues Ultimatum
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud has openly expressed disappointment with the performance of a majority of Congress MLAs. Speaking at a review meeting for the Karimnagar Parliament constituency on Friday, he made it clear that many MLAs have failed to deliver, and this is causing frustration among party workers. He warned that MLAs must take responsibility and immediately improve their working style, especially with important cabinet expansions and PCC restructuring likely to take place this month.

Poor MLA Performance Hurting Party Morale
Mahesh Goud did not mince words in his criticism, stating that the inefficiency of several MLAs is demotivating party cadres at the grassroots. He said that it is the responsibility of elected representatives to coordinate better with workers and maintain party strength. If MLAs fail to introspect and correct themselves, it could harm the party’s prospects in upcoming elections. The message was clear: performance will be reviewed, and accountability will be enforced.

Local Body Elections Seen as Crucial Test
Highlighting the importance of upcoming local elections, Mahesh Goud urged MLAs to work with renewed focus. He said that winning local body elections would require strong efforts and visible presence from MLAs in their constituencies. Only by improving performance and boosting morale at the ground level can Congress aim to retain and expand its support base.

Need to Promote Government Welfare Schemes
The TPCC chief also stressed the need for aggressive promotion of welfare schemes being implemented by the Congress-led government. “We are running the government with complete transparency and delivering welfare without discrimination—from free bus travel to subsidised rice. Yet, we are not receiving the credit or publicity that we deserve,” he said, voicing concern that the government’s good work is not reaching the people effectively.

Party Must Be Strengthened from the Grassroots
Mahesh Goud called for structural strengthening of the Congress party at the booth and village levels. “We must build the organisation from the bottom up. Only a strong party can ensure continuity in power,” he said. He urged leaders and workers to work with doubled enthusiasm now that the party is in power.

Cabinet Expansion and PCC Restructuring Expected in June
The TPCC chief hinted that both the expansion of the state Cabinet and restructuring of the PCC executive committee are likely to take place within June. He reminded everyone that Congress has a solid track record in social justice initiatives, including the scientific implementation of caste census and providing 42% reservations to the Backward Classes. “This is our party’s legacy, and we must continue working with that spirit,” he added.

Final Word: MLAs Must Step Up or Step Aside
The overall tone of Mahesh Goud’s address was one of urgency and accountability. With local elections approaching and party restructuring on the horizon, he made it clear that Congress MLAs cannot afford to be complacent. The coming days are expected to bring key changes, and only those who perform will continue to hold positions of influence.
