In a bid to promote physical fitness among school students, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has launched a new initiative titled ‘Active CISCE’. The programme is set to roll out from July 15 and will be mandatory for students from Class 1 to Class 12. According to S. Theresa, Regional Sports Coordinator of CISCE, registration on a dedicated fitness portal is compulsory for participation.
Importantly, students registering for ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) board examinations must also take part in this fitness programme. The initiative aims to encourage students to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily routines, ensuring holistic development along with academic progress.
