Article Today, New Delhi: The Hyderabad Regional Passport Office (RPO) and Telangana Police have earned national recognition for their outstanding public service initiatives. During the 2025 Regional Passport Officers’ Conference held in New Delhi, the Hyderabad RPO received a prestigious national award in the “Citizen-Centric Initiatives” category. Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, presented the award on Tuesday as part of Passport Seva Divas celebrations.

Recognition for Telangana’s Police Support
Along with the RPO, Telangana Police were also appreciated for their continuous and efficient support in the passport verification process. Their commitment to timely and transparent verification has played a significant role in improving service delivery and public trust.

Jonnalagadda Snehaja Receives the Honour
The Hyderabad Regional Passport Officer Jonnalagadda Snehaja and Intelligence Director General B. Shivadhar Reddy accepted the award at the national meet. The recognition comes as a testament to the RPO’s innovative efforts and people-first approach in delivering passport services.

Innovations Led by Hyderabad RPO
In 2024–25, the Hyderabad RPO undertook several key initiatives to enhance citizen services. These included introducing a weekly walk-in facility every Thursday to resolve public grievances, and launching a large-scale cleanliness drive to improve the office environment. To commemorate 75 years of the Indian Constitution, the RPO released a special edition passport cover. It also collaborated with the Telangana Governor to launch a year-long art and calligraphy exhibition themed on the Constitution.
