Telangana Aiming for Global Top Spot by 2047

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared a bold vision for the state on Monday, stating that Telangana would become a global leader by the year 2047. Speaking at the Telangana Formation Day celebrations held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, the Chief Minister hoisted the national flag and received the ceremonial salute from the armed forces. Revanth Reddy emphasized that the people’s government is preparing detailed plans to place Telangana at the number one position in the world, promising transparent governance and calling on citizens to stand united in this mission. The event was attended by Kazuhisa Takeuchi, the Mayor of Kitakyushu, Japan, as the state’s guest of honour.

Telangana Rising 2047: The Roadmap

In his speech, the Chief Minister extended greetings to all four crore citizens of Telangana on the occasion of State Formation Day. He announced that the state government is developing a vision plan called “Telangana Rising 2047,” aligned with the centenary of India’s independence. As part of this roadmap, the government aims to grow Telangana’s economy into a Rs.3 trillion economy over the next ten years.

Revanth Reddy acknowledged that even after ten years of statehood, many people’s dreams remain unfulfilled. When the people’s government took charge, the state’s economy was in disarray, and many institutions were non-functional. He admitted that the current government has the responsibility to correct past mistakes and rebuild the state. “We know it’s not going to be a smooth walk, but we are committed to reshaping Telangana based on the aspirations of its people,” he stated.

Development Plans Across All Sectors

Revanth Reddy laid out his government’s development goals across sectors like women empowerment, agriculture, education, youth development, and healthcare. To build a socially inclusive Telangana, he mentioned key policies like 42% reservations for backward classes, sub-categorization of Scheduled Castes, the construction of Indiramma houses, and the development of integrated residential schools.

For the state’s overall progress, he highlighted infrastructure initiatives that include the rejuvenation of the Musi River, development of Bharat Future City, creation of Young India Skills University, a Sports University, expansion of the Metro Rail network, new airports, and a Regional Ring Road to connect and support growth around Hyderabad. These initiatives aim to make Telangana a prime destination for global investments and transform Hyderabad into a world-class city.

Honoring Telangana Heroes and Officials

During the event, the Chief Minister honored nine prominent individuals who played key roles in the Telangana movement. He also presented gallantry awards to police officers who showed exceptional performance in their duties. The program was attended by several public representatives, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, DGP Jitender, and other top officials.
