Article Today, Mumbai:
Royal Enfield has announced a partnership with e-commerce platform Flipkart to sell its 350cc motorcycles online. The service will begin on Monday in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai. The move is expected to open a new chapter in the digitalisation of automobile sales in India.
Range of Models
The motorcycles available include Classic 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, and Gorilla 350. Each model retains the brand’s signature styling and performance. The bikes come with a 349cc engine, delivering 20 horsepower and 27 Nm of torque. Customers can browse specifications, choose colour options, and place orders through the Flipkart platform.
Simplified Purchase Process
The company has highlighted doorstep delivery and simplified payment options as part of the initiative. Post-delivery, buyers can complete registration and insurance procedures with ease. Royal Enfield said the strategy was designed to make the buying process more accessible to young consumers who prefer online transactions.
City-Wise Launch
Launching the service in five cities is seen as a calculated step. Bengaluru represents the technology hub, while Mumbai remains the financial capital. Gurugram serves as a corporate centre, Kolkata represents a cultural hub, and Lucknow provides access to the northern belt. The phased rollout will allow the company to test consumer response before expanding to other regions.
Focus on Young Buyers
The motorcycles are priced between Rs. 1.85 lakh and Rs. 2.25 lakh. With this partnership, Royal Enfield expects to attract younger customers who are more comfortable with digital platforms. Industry observers believe the initiative may influence other two-wheeler makers to explore e-commerce sales in the future.
Strengthening Digital Presence
Royal Enfield has indicated that the move is part of a broader effort to strengthen its digital presence. By combining the reach of Flipkart with the brand’s established market, the company aims to redefine how motorcycles are purchased in India. Expansion to more cities is under consideration in the coming months.
