Article Today, Viziayanagaram:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his birthday this year with a visit to a tribal village in Madhya Pradesh. Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, Vizianagaram MP Kalishetti Appalanayudu spent a night in a tribal hamlet in his constituency on Wednesday. Locals said he was the first MP from the district to engage in such an exercise.

Grassroots Interaction
Mr. Appalanayudu interacted with farmers early on Thursday morning while walking along field bunds clad in a lungi. He listened to their grievances and assured them of solutions. Later, he visited households to understand people’s difficulties. Through village stays, public meetings, and Rachchabanda sessions, he attempted to bring governance closer to the people.

Traditional Welcome
Residents accorded him a warm welcome with tribal dances, drum beats, and fireworks. He participated in a grama sabha along with officials from key departments including education, health, agriculture, and revenue. At the meeting, villagers openly raised issues, while officials responded directly. Beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over timely delivery of government welfare schemes such as Talliki Vandhanam and Sthree Shakti.

Assurance of Support
Addressing the gathering, the MP praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh for their commitment to development and welfare. He promised to secure special funds for tribal areas in addition to deploying his MPLADS allocation. In one instance, he encouraged a student and assured her of civil services coaching in Delhi.

Governance at the Doorstep
Mr. Appalanayudu said he would prepare a detailed report on his visit and submit it to the State government. His initiative, coinciding with Mr. Modi’s birthday, also included blood donation camps in the district. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu appreciated his effort, describing it as a step towards bringing governance closer to the people.
